Wine Scores - 2010 Viognier

By: Daenna Van Mulligen, Wine Diva, June 29, 2011

Expect another winning vintage of Viognier for the Chris and Beata Tolley, owners of Moon Curser.
It's again a wonderfully fragrant white with notes of exotic spices, lime and pink grapefruit, orange blossoms, honey, ginger and stone fruits. It's nicely weighted on the palate with an oily/slick texture and great concentration. Excellent viognier character, fresh not flabby, with a long spicy finish... / Read More

The Globe and Mail - Bevvies fit for a Duke (and Duchess)

By: Beppi Crosariol, The Globe and Mail, June 25, 2011

It's expected to be one of Parliament Hill's biggest Canada Day celebrations ever. And why not? The stars next Friday will be two non-Canadians. The irony hardly bothers us, of course. It shouldn't. This country has carved an identity out of making others welcome, a perfect theme for July 1. Besides, this is Prince William and Princess Catharine we're talking about, two newlyweds who live in castles. That's fairy-tale stardom Hollywood can't match. And England dovetails with the essence of Dominion Day, as it was once called... / Read More

The Globe and Mail - BC wines: Moon Curser Tempranillo 2009

By: Kasey Wilson, The Globe and Mail, May 20, 2011

Only a handful of Okanagan wineries have tapped the seductive qualities of Spain's most important grape, tempranillo (tem-prah-nee-yoh). Osoyoos vineyard owners Chris and Beata Tolley chose it because it ripens early (temprano means "early")... / Read More

John Schreiner on Wine - Moon Curser Winery debuts

By: John Schreiner, blog , April 26, 2011

In what may be the most contentious name change yet among Okanagan wineries, Twisted Tree Vineyards & Winery of Osoyoos has become Moon Curser Vineyards.

The new labels, designed by New York artist Andrea Dezsö, will be unforgettable and, to some consumers, unsettling because the illustrations have the feel of, well, illustrations for Halloween... / Read More

Eat Magazine - A Fresh Start in the South Okanagan

By: Treve Ring, Eat Magazine, April 21, 2011

anée is a South Okanagan Winery Association (SOWA) industry event to mark the end of pruning and the beginning of a new season, and was modeled after Burgundy’s famed Banée de Meursault.

This year SOWA announced another new beginning – the beginning of a new era, logo and name christening as Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country. The 21 member wineries made the decision to move from SOWA to OOWA so they could better define the region where their grapes are grown and to communicate a sense of place. Southern Okanagan is a pretty broad term for consumers to comprehend – where does it start? Where does it end? How far does it spread? The new name and marketing plan aims to clarify the area, and will work to highlight their unique climate, soil and wine growers and vintners... / Read More

John Schreiner on Wine - Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country is the South Okanagan's new branding

By: John Schreiner on wine, April 18, 2011

The South Okanagan Winery Association used last weekend’s Banée celebration to reveal that it is rebranding as Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country, with the slogan “Uncork the Sun.”

The objective is raising the profile of this exciting wine region. It extends from the U.S. border to McIntyre Bluff, north of Oliver. The membership includes all by five of the 26 wineries current operating in the area... / Read More
