BC Food And Wine Radio – Sept 23, 2026 – Special on-location in Okanagan
This week, BC Food & Wine Radio takes you to the heart of the Naramata Bench for a special on-location broadcast of a few Okanagan Wineries. Anthony Gismondi “meet[s] Christian Scagnetti, winemaker at Moon Curser Vineyards, whose adventurous approach to winemaking shines through in two captivating reds: the bold 2022 Touriga Nacional and one of his favourite labels, the 2022 Malbec.”
Christian joins Anthony at the 34:27 mark and asks Christian to describe Moon Curser which of course includes our unusual grape varieties and leads into talking about Touriga Nacional and Anthony refers to when he first tasted it “Wow, what is going on here. It’s been a great variety for Moon Curser” and asks Christian if it’s a fun or easy thing to grow. They get into the ownership change, that Christian and Crystal and the gang are still there, and that the new owners are vineyard owners with 80 acres of their own vineyards in the South Okanagan.
Starting at 39:40 – Anthony tells Christian before getting into Malbec, the next wine they taste together, “I have to say, I recently had your Dolcetto and I thought it was fantastic. It was so “Dolcetto” which is not easy to do and I don’t want to say it was Italian because it’s Okanagan but the texture, the style, everything sings out Dolcetto, which is quite a famous Italian wines for those who know their wines. It’s delicious drinking.” then at 39:48 they get into tasting Moon Curser’s Malbec.

Capping the interview off, at 44:51 Anthony suggests Moon Curser will have to come back on the show again because there’s a lot of interesting stuff going on at Moon Curser. They tasted the Touriga Nacional 2022 and Malbec 2022 today “both highly recommended but try that Dolcetto, and the Tannat, and the Marsanne, and the Roussanne…well I could go on forever.”
