Touriga Nacional is a red grape variety that is best known for being grown in the Douro and Dão region of Portugal. Often used in blends to make port, it is increasingly being used to make table wines. This low yielding variety produces very few bunches of small grapes. The resulting high skin-to-pulp ratio makes for well-structured, aromatic wines. To the best of our knowledge, Moon Curser is the only producer in British Columbia making table wine from this unique grape variety.
A showstopper of a wine, our 2019 Touriga Nacional is a medium to full-bodied red wine, with a dark ruby colour in the glass. An incredibly rich nose of lavender, fennel and sage invite you in, while velvety tannins, smooth texture and harmonious acidity provide a perfect backdrop for the palate. Concentrated flavours of rosemary, thyme and stewed blueberries leave you wanting every last drop. This is an exceptional wine that delivers a truly captivating tasting experience.
